Incense Plaques

A blessing you can carry

Our aroma plaques and hanging charms follow a tradition older than any perfume bottle: auspicious motifs pressed into blended incense, worn at the chest or hung from a bag. Each piece is ground, pressed and slow-cured by hand in small batches, following classical hexiang (合香) recipes — and like everything we make, the scent comes from the botanical materials themselves. No synthetic fragrance, no perfume oils, nothing to burn.

The motifs, and what they have meant

  • Dragon Medallion — power, protection and good fortune, carved amid scrollwork
  • Auspicious Longevity — the character for longevity ringed by dragon scrollwork, traditionally given at milestones: a birthday, a recovery, a new chapter
  • Awakened Lion — the guardian lion long worn to ward off misfortune
  • Nine-Tailed Fox — wit, charm and protection from one of China's most storied creatures
  • Guan Gong — loyalty and integrity
  • Lotus — purity and calm

Craft notes

Plaques are pressed in moulds and finished by hand, so weight, texture and colour vary slightly from piece to piece — that variation is the signature of handwork, not a flaw. The aroma opens with warmth: hold the piece for twenty seconds and it wakes up. Over months the lighter notes recede and the woodier materials come forward, the way any treasured natural material ages.

Gifting

Every piece ships in a cotton pouch, ready to give. For milestone gifts we suggest Auspicious Longevity; for protection, the guardian lion or dragon; for someone starting a new chapter, lotus or nine-tailed fox. Pieces are decorative and are not intended for burning — each product page lists exactly what its materials are.
